Odile Gilbert invited us Christian Lacroix backstage at the Arles Festival and in her Parisian studio.
In 2000, she created L’ATELIER (68), so she could manage her own career and represent new talents in the fashion world.
In 2001, she reinvented the hair pin.
In 2003, Odile Gilbert published a book, based on an original idea by Karl Lagerfeld, with 7L / Steidl “Her Style, Hair by Odile GILBERT”,
a compilation of her creations.
She was awarded numerous times at “Les Trophées de la Mode” in 1997 and in 1999, “les Vénus de la Mode” in 1999, 2004, 2006, and “les Victoires de la Beauté” in 2003.
In 2005 Sofia Coppola asked her to be the artistic director for the main character’s hairstyles in “Marie Antoinette”, played by Kirsten Dunst.
In 2006,Odile was awarded a knighthood for her contribution to the art world by the then Minister of Arts and Culture, Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres
In 2007, the Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York Fashion Institute purchased one of her creations for the “Blog Mode” exhibition and for its permanent collections.
2009, Odile styled Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams’s hair for Francesco Vezzoli / Gagosian Gallery’s Greed video filmed by Roman Polanski.
